You are never too old to try the ancient sport of bowls. Last year the average age of our new joiners was 65, with a 60/40 split in favour of women.
The NHS states the advantages of playing as:
Improved fitness: It helps maintain physical activity levels in a low-impact manner.
Enhanced co-ordination and skills: The game sharpens hand-eye coordination and motor skills.
Boosted mental wellbeing: Engaging in bowls can reduce stress and improve mood.
Social connection: It provides opportunities to socialize and build supportive relationships.
Our 220 members would agree with that.
We would like u3a members to just come to try it out.
