I am a member of another u3a...

If you are a current member of another u3a, please complete the on line application form and payment, but also advise the Membership Secretary that you have applied to join us and give the name of the other u3a. Please note that we do not offer a reduced membership rate if you are a member of another u3a.

Membership and course fees

  • Canterbury u3a membership year runs from 1st March to the end of February the following year. The current individual annual subscription is £20, or £40 for joint membership for two people living at the same address. If you join after 1st November, your membership is automatically extended to the end of February of the next membership year.
  • Course fees for 2024-25 have been set at £1 per session. Course fees contribute towards u3a costs, such as room hire.

Joining Sessions

I am unable to join online or in person...

You can join by email or post

Please complete our Application Form 2024-25 (PDF). The form can be completed on-screen and saved as an email attachment or printed out and filled in by hand. You should also arrange to pay the membership fee by one of the methods shown below.

Return the completed form by email or by post to the membership email or postal address shown on the form.

Payment of membership fee

To help us keep our costs down we would prefer that you pay your membership directly into the Canterbury u3a bank account (bank details on form) giving your postcode as reference. If not you can pay by cheque made payable to “u3a Canterbury & District” and post it with a copy of your application form for attention of the Membership Secretary at the address shown on the form.

When receipt of your payment has been confirmed the Membership Secretary will acknowledge your application and advise you of your membership number. You will also receive a Welcome Pack.

If none of these methods work for you... please telephone our Orange Street office and leave a message for the Membership Secretary with your full contact details.
