Description: Illustrated sessions cover the evolution and function of the Greek temple and the structures of the Acropolis and the cultural and religious significance of the site in the classical period. We also look at temples on the Greek mainland and in Sicily and southern Italy, as well as their effects on western Classical revival architecture. The course will encourage discussion, and notes will be provided for each session.
