| Description: | Old Park is Canterbury’s greatest hidden secret. Just a mile outside the city walls it is a haven to nightingales, turtle doves and a host of insects butterflies and moths. It is also part of one of the most important historic landscapes in England with a unique history dating from the Palaeolithic through the Iron Age, Medieval and Tudor periods and on to the Napoleonic Wars and WW2. This talk will reveal all Old Park’s mysteries and why this precious place must be protected and conserved for the people of Canterbury. |
