For our Christmas outing this year we are going to Greenwich for the afternoon followed by a Thames pleasure boat hour cruise to Westminster and then a coach trip round this year's London's Lights and a fish a chip supper in a restaurant. The Outing will be on the Friday 20th November and the cost will be £65
The coach will drop us off in Greenwich where we will be spending the afternoon and where you will have the option of either:
a) exploring Greenwich on your own, with it's covered market and boutique style shops for Christmas shopping and there will be time to visit some of the main attractions such as the National Maritime Museum and the Queen’s House (both are free entry) as well as the Cutty Sark and Observatory.
or
b) joining us on as we walk through the Thames foot tunnel, have lunch at the Heritage Centre and look at the Naval Museum
As the sun goes down we will reconvene and meetup with a Blue Badge guide before boarding a Thames pleasure boat for a one hour cruise to Westminster with a fun & informative Cockney skipper’s commentary. We pass Canary Wharf all lit up like a mini-Manhattan. We sail beneath a floodlit Tower Bridge and through the glistening City & West End.
After disembarking we will get back on the coach for a tour round this year's Christmas Lights showing you some of London’s most beautifully illuminated buildings and we go off the beaten track to bring you up to date with what is new in the capital.
The coach tour finishes at 6.45/7.00pm at a restaurant with some of the very best fish & chips in London, served with peas and a hot drink. There are non-fish options like pies and chicken, gluten free and vegetarian/vegan options available by pre-order.
And we'll be ready to start the journey home at 7.45/8.00pm.
