| Description: | Repeat Course. The tradition of Chinese poetry is rich, diverse, profound – and beautiful! We will look at the centuries-long history and development of verse in Chinese. Then, with a particular focus on the aesthetics, themes, genres and formal structures of the poetry of the Tang dynasty, we will examine examples of poems from the work of some of its finest exponents. |
No previous knowledge of Chinese is assumed. Copies of all relevant materials will be provided..
