Three members of the Canterbury U3A Photography Interest group managed to meet in the early part of March at Dumpton Gap, on a dry, sunny but chilly day. We took a leisurely walk on the beach and promenade towards Broadstairs taking photographs along the way.

After leaving our vehicles, we walked down the ramp to the sea, where we found the following view.
Around the corner we were treated to some graffiti on the walls heading towards Broadstairs.

Taking a closer look

One brave soul endeavoured to maintain their balance on the rocks, without falling into one of the rock pools, while trying to get the perfect shot. The remaining two of us were rather mean, awaiting the perfect shot of him falling! We would of course have rushed to his aid should the need arisen.
It is interesting the various patterns that you can encounter at the coast.

We didn’t quite get to Broadstairs pier, as the lure of a warm drink in Morelli’s was calling. It gave us the opportunity warm up, discuss the photographic opportunities of the afternoon and even reminisce of what Broadstairs was like years ago.
It would be lovely, dependent on time, to head back in the warmer weather for another session later in the year. Perhaps with a few more members in attendance. If you are interested please make contact with the group organiser.
