Canterbury u3a is a part of the UK-wide network of more than a thousand local groups. The mission of u3a is to bring members together in the spirit of ‘learning for fun’.
Canterbury u3a now has over 1,000 members, participating in a wide range of activities including -
Courses in languages, history, literature, science, music, art, philosophy, social science and more.
Formal and informal groups, sharing a common interest such as gardening, bridge and cinema, to name just a few.
Our monthly meeting held on the second Wednesday of every month is your opportunity to catch up with u3a news, to hear from a special guest speaker and, of course, to meet fellow members.
Other activities include tours and visits to places of interest.
Join us. Membership is open to anyone no longer in full-time employment. Join us to learn for fun - and to socialise - and if you have expertise or experiences to share with fellow members, we’d also love to hear from you. Annual membership is currently £20 per member. Many u3a activities are free to attend (there is a small fee for courses). Face to face classes are held in public venues or in leaders‘ homes, and some are online via Zoom.
